Chaplains are working on the frontlines of support to our young people. They are trained youthworkers with a passion to see young people grow into strong, well-rounded, active members of their communities.
A chaplain is a friend, a mentor, a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on. And many chaplains do this for very little money, especially considering they are never “off the clock”.
Chappies are valued by students, parents, teachers and other local networks. One principal has even commented that she would never work in a school without a chaplain – that is how valuable they are.
While some chaplains are paid a full-time wage, many are only contracted part-time. And many of those contracts have little or no government backing.
You can help more chaplains spend more time in schools and out in the community. Your donation, no matter how small, could make all the difference a kid needs in getting five extra minutes with their chappy.
